Our History
History of SUMC began in 1866. Originally, it was near “Big Spring.” First church was formed of bushes, with circular log benches. The original church was named Bush Arbor.
Meet Our New Lead Pastor
I am Reverend Arthur L. Gamble, your new Pastor, bringing greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I moved from Florida to South Carolina in 2001 and have served as a Certified Lay Servant, Sunday School Teacher, and Music Director. Since 2015, I have held pastoral appointments, including a full-time role in the Greenwood District since 2020.
I hold degrees from Central Carolina Technical College, Columbia College, and Hood Theological Seminary. My wife, Zenovia, also serves actively in the church. Together, we have four children and eight grandchildren.
We look forward to becoming part of the Springtime UMC family, guided by love and peace as expressed in Colossians 3:14-17.
