Our Misssion
Our mission is to be a church that empowers God’s people “to serve the present age …for the building of God’s Kingdom”.
Our Goal
Our goal is to develop a mission/ministry that will address the spiritual, physical, social, and economic demands and needs of its members and the community.
Our Philosophy
The phrase "seek ye first the kingdom... while preparing ourselves for the return of Christ" is the foundation of our ethical system.
Our History
History of SUMC began in 1866. Originally, it was near “Big Spring.” First church was formed of bushes, with circular log benches. The original church was named Bush Arbor.
